Project Value £2,800,000

full renovations to commercial and residential sites. Brompton Road

Taking possession of 3 large victorian 6-storey period properties less than 150 yards from Harrods, Park Refurbishment undertook over an 18-month period a comprehensive strip-out project. This included the removal under license of all deleterious materials including asbestos, which enabled works for the demolition internally over the basement, ground and 1st floor and then all new structural steelwork. Floor structures and fire rating to form a single retail unit for the flagship store of Watches of Switzerland at Knightsbridge was then added.

In addition, a new entrance and staircase was formed over 5 floors from the pavement to serve 3 new residential flats over 3 upper floors at 51 Brompton Road and a portland stone cladding to form shop front surround at street level.

On a busy central London thoroughfare and constricted site footprint, major excavation works and underpinning at basement level were undertaken and a reinforced structural basement slab was formed. New structural framework Installed over 3 floors with some of the new beams designed at 5 tonne. The works required careful planning and logistical considerations needed to be paramount. Working to a tight programme meant hand over was achieved on time.

Park Refurbishment worked in close conjunction with the Chelsfield project team including Walsh Engineers and Stephen Marshall Architects, the project was delivered on-time and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
